Jaden Foster Leads Missoula Sentinel To AA Boys Title

The Missoula Sentinel boys broke through on Saturday at Legends Stadium in Kalispell for their first team championship. The Spartans scored 109 points to win the Montana Class AA title. 

Junior Jaden Foster led the way for the Spartans as he won the 200 meters (21.68), 400 (48.98) and finished second in the 100 (10.88). 

In the field, Sentinel senior Rylan Ortt won the javelin by 20 feet with a throw of  208-8. That mark is good for US#6.

Bozeman senior Delaney Bahn was everywhere at the Class AA meet. She broke a state meet record in the long jump  with her winning mark of 19-3.75. She won the 100 (12.38), 200 (24.72) and finished in third in the high jump (5-5) and added a fifth-place finish in the 100 hurdles to lead Bozeman to a state team title. 

Bozeman junior Terra Trom also had a banner day, winning the 1,600 (4:55.92), finishing second in the 800 (2:15.01) and was part of the winning 4x400 relay (3:58.49). 

Class B

It was a good day for Huntley Project at the Class B championships. The boys team scored an impressive 122 points to claim the team title, while the girls tied Baker with 74 points to be declared co-champions. 

Huntley Project went 1-2-3 in the 110 hurdles led by senior Bradley Graves, who set a meet record of 14.14 seconds in the event. His time broke a 35-year-old record held by Harry Clark (14.54). 

“I knew it felt really good, so I was pretty pumped up about it. I knew I was probably going to win, but it was going to be tough to get that record. But I knew as soon as I crossed that line, it felt super good," Graves told montanasports.com. 

Sweet Grass County senior Casey Gunlikson had a banner day setting two classification records, winning the 100 (10.87) and 300 hurdles (38.11), and also added a win in the 200 (21.8).      

Baker senior Wrenzi Wrzesinski won the 200 (26.09), 100 (15.37) and 300 (45.87) hurdles, and was part of the winning 4x100 and 4x400 relays to help her team to a share of the Class B title. 

Class A/C: Laurel Sports Complex

Laurel and Dillon both finished with 81 points to share the Class A crown on Saturday.

Senior Levi Taylor paced Laurel, winning the 800 (1:57.22), 1,600 (4:33.37) and 3,200 (9:54.28). 

Zane Johnson of Dillon won his second straight Class A triple jump title (44-11) and added a long jump title (21-9.25). 

In Class A girls, Calla Haldorson of Corvallis, won the discus (147-7), becoming the first girl in state history to win four straight titles in a single event.     

Polson senior Bea Frissell set a Class A record in the 3,200, winning in 10:47.33. She also won the 1,600 (5:00.10). 

Class C

Senior Martin Farver led Scobey to a Class C team title as he swept the sprints, winning the 100 (11.00), 200 (22.52), 400 (49.77) and was second in the 110 hurdles (14.91).      

In the field events, Melstone senior Brody Grebe won the shot put (51-7), long jump (21-8.5) and triple jump (45-6.75). 

In girls Class C action, Seeley-Swan scored 90.33 points to win the team title. Freshman Sariah Maughan won the 1,600 (5:23.15), was second in the 800 (2:24.49) and was part of the winning 4x400 (4:08.42).
